Wealth Management, a real estate investment company based in Minato-ku, Tokyo, has selected the Intercontinental Hotels Group’s Six Senses Hotels Resort Spas as the brand of a luxury hotel planned in the Hirafu area of Kutchan Town. The hotel is planned to provide high-quality service with less than 100 beds, and to open around 2024 to 2025.
Singapore’s Rooftop RE (Japan), which is engaged in real estate development, is planning to build a new condominium hotel called NISEKO KYO in Kutchan Town. Construction will begin in April and is expected to be completed in September 2023. The contractor will be decided in the future.
The Government of Japan has declared a carbon neutral policy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to virtually zero by 2050, which has stimulated decarbonization. With the aim of expanding the introduction of renewable energy, the Hokkaido Government plans to greatly increase the introduction rate by 2030 from 12% in 2017. It will work on expanding the introduction of offshore wind power generation and hydrogen power generation, and on building a distributed energy system that integrates supply and demand. A target value for the introduction of renewable energy will be set within FY 2020.
